Wednesday 15th Sept 2027 – Saturday 18th Sept 2027
Great Expectations follows the childhood and young adult years of Pirrip (Pip) a blacksmith’s apprentice near the Kent marshes, living with his rather harsh sister and her kindly husband.
Pip is sent to visit the eccentric, heartbroken Miss Havisham to keep her company and ends up falling in love with her cold, beautiful, adopted daughter, Estella.
His Great Expectations are suddenly realised when he comes into a large fortune from a mysterious benefactor and moves to London where he enters high society, which he hopes will secure his match with Estella.
He meets friend and foe along his journey, he also thinks he knows where his inheritance has come from, but he turns out to be sadly mistaken.
A poignant tale of love, loss and that true personal worth and happiness come from loyalty, affection, and humility rather than wealth, social class, and material ambition.
This is another brand new adaptation for the stage by Jane Thompson, who previously adapted ‘Little Women’ to critical acclaim.

Fundraising
Since the very beginning, Thompson Promotions has proudly supported many local charities over the years through shows and events. Charities from Livability, Streets2Homes, PACT for Autism and others have been supported through my productions.
The last big event was my insane challenge of singing karaoke for 27 hours straight, trying to raise £27,000 for St Clare Hospice. Learn more about my story by clicking the button below.
